Andrea's Hotel

The front desk guy was outstanding. I can’t remember his name, but he was so friendly, got me settled, and told me what to expect on the road, including the scenery from Watson Lake to Whitehorse. He suggested Tombstone park, but when I checked the distance, I realized I wouldn’t have time to go out of my way. He even opened the storage room so I could choose a bottle of wine. There was a payment issue: it showed as bought on my phone but not in their system. They were fine about it and told me not to worry. He also told me the story behind Fairbank's popular film "Into the Wild". I didn’t watch it, but read the whole story. That friendliness is what bumps my rating to 4 stars. I’d love to come back. The room itself was decent and warm enough without an extra heater. I had two queen beds, which was fine, though it seemed they had no king bed rooms. There was a fridge but no microwave in the room, though you can reheat food outside. The TV was okay, and being able to watch my Netflix was nice. The hallway and room smelled funky, like an old room, and the wall paint was weird. I would’ve rated it 3 stars based on the room.

Neet at the front desk and the Indian server at the restaurant were both sweet and knowledgeable, and the service was great. The staff were wonderful. The rooms were really good too, though I think the pet friendly rooms could use a little more, maybe a small pet couch. I honestly don’t agree with the negative comments. This hotel is amazing for the city.

We needed a break after hours of driving, and this was a good place to stop. The room was a little older but clean and had what we needed. The staff were kind and extremely helpful, and the food in the restaurant was Amazing! There’s also a convenience store and laundry on site. My husband and I enjoyed our stay.

The restaurant attached to the motel had really good food, especially breakfast, and there’s a little general store too. It’s quite close to the Signpost Forest if you want to see it or add your own sign. I didn’t run into drunk people or get hassled by locals, so those few reports may have been isolated incidents. I’ve read a lot of negative reviews, but after staying here I don’t get why. The staff were incredibly friendly. The wall had an interesting painted pattern, but it didn’t bother me and was a neat change from a plain white wall. I had a great stay.
