Algoma Motel

The owners were friendly and accommodating, and late check-in went smoothly. They had complimentary coffee and freshly baked muffins in the office, too. I stayed here in mid-January during a cross-province road trip. My room was very clean and cozy, the bathroom was well stocked and kept up, and the heat worked nice and hot.

A good spot to pause on a long drive or spend a few days seeing the local sights. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, with a great bed and shower. Groceries, restaurants, and other amenities are within walking distance. Strongly recommend it.

We really enjoyed the fresh coffee and delicious muffins in the morning. The staff were welcoming, professional, and ready to help, and the whole place had a calm feel. We had a very pleasant stay. Thanks for the warm hospitality!

The bed made for a miserable night. It was sagging and so squeaky that even rolling over woke me up. We were told before paying that our room was an unrenovated smoking room, and we accepted that. We were greeted warmly, which made me want to like the place, but I wouldn't recommend it or return. To clarify my earlier review, I paid $100, not $80. For $120, I could have stayed somewhere else. It was a Monday in October with nothing going on, so this wasn't a case of taking the last room in town. The bed we slept on was definitely not new. Maybe other rooms have new beds, but ours didn't. There's no more to the story. We were clean, kind, and quiet guests. I was surprised by the owner's aggressive response, especially after seeing other comments with similarly aggressive replies. It says a lot about the place.
