Best Western Wayside Inn

We chose Wayside Inn while in town for a family funeral, and everyone we met was friendly and accommodating. Amanda greeted us at the desk and gave us our room keys and vouchers for the $5 breakfast, usually $16. Our room wasn't large, but it had what we needed: an iron and board, hairdryer, good-sized bar fridge, built-in desk and chair, plus a comfy chair and ottoman. My husband especially liked the big, good-quality TV and its channel selection, including several sports stations. The property was very clean. During our four-day stay, I saw the halls vacuumed and the walls wiped down each day. There are plenty of elevators and a small but useful exercise room downstairs. O'Briens serves breakfast and early lunch, while Barney's Pub is open for lunch, dinner and later, with lots of bar and room seating and a cute little patio. The staff there were pleasant too. I think the even-numbered rooms face the patio and fountain; the others look onto the quiet parking lot. It's easy to walk to a Subways, a well-stocked Safeway with a small Starbuck's that opens at 7 a.m., and several other restaurants. We'll definitely choose Wayside Inn again next time we're in Wetaskiwin.

We were in the area for a nearby wedding and had a clean room with everything we needed for the night. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and we'd happily stay here again.

Having our wedding reception at The Best Western Wayside Inn was such a good experience. The banquet space and bathrooms were nicely updated, and our guests said their rooms felt comfortable and clean. We loved having everyone stay right where the reception was, with all our favourite people together for the whole celebration. Planning was easy with help from the team. Amanda at the front desk was kind and helpful, and sent the events package soon after our first call. Chase, the manager, was our main contact and was always ready to answer questions and work with our requests. On the day, service ran smoothly: drinks and special plates arrived promptly, the food was delicious, and the hotel staff handled setting up and taking down the tables and chairs. That let us enjoy the day without extra stress. We'd absolutely recommend the venue for a special event. The Wayside Inn team made our wedding feel seamless and memorable.

The hallway was really noisy, with kids running and screaming at all hours. The bed also seemed tiny. We measured it and found it was a double, not a queen. When we raised it with the woman at the desk, she said they buy queen sheets for the beds, which made no sense to us. We have three queen beds at home, and queen sheets can go on a double or a queen.
