Comfort Suites Downtown Windsor

Breakfast was nice, with a good range of options, though the limited tables made things cramped with so many guests over the long weekend. Some cleaning staff were friendlier when we passed them in the halls, but other staff felt unwelcoming. At check-in, it almost seemed like we’d done something wrong just by booking. The room had everything advertised, but it was quite outdated. Giant garbage bins blocked off parts of the parking lot, and our window faced them, so the view was pretty poor. These days you’d expect an electrical outlet beside the bed.

This was easily one of my favorite hotels during my time in Canada. We got a warm welcome from the staff and general manager when we arrived. My name was on the board, and they upgraded us to the Paradise Suite. The staff were incredibly friendly, the restaurant was very flexible, and the restaurant supervisor deserves special thanks. I had a great month here, which added to the experience. It isn’t a 4/5-star hotel, but the atmosphere is so special that it felt like home. Much respect to the general manager, who does a great job and is a true example of excellent hospitality.

What stood out most was the staff. They gave our group great advice, and the manager went out of her way more than once to help people. It’s been ages since I’ve heard hotel staff talk so warmly about enjoying their jobs. The rooms were clean and thoughtfully designed. A real gem in Windsor.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place was clean. Breakfast is included, and there’s laundry on site. Our room had a double bed and a pullout couch. They also leave a couple of free coffee pods with the Keurig, which was a nice touch. We did find ants the first night, though I’m not sure where they came from. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay.
