Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Windsor

The beds were comfortable and the staff were super friendly, but the hotel seems to have seen better days. There was some mold on the shower caulking, and my room’s heater didn’t work right. I was told the wiring had been upgraded a while ago, but not the in-room heating and AC units, which frequently blow a fuse. After it was reset, I was told to turn the temperature up by 2 degrees every 20 minutes. The room was 60F, and I had to go out. I had a very cold night.

We had a suite on the seventh floor for four nights. It was spacious, quiet, and very nice, with a separate area with a sink and fridge. The price was reasonable and parking was free. We didn’t use the pool, but the workout area had a complimentary water refill dispenser. There was streaming on the 55-inch TV, so we could watch Netflix. They also offer free coffee. Take what you need, but don’t take extra, that’s how I feel about it. The complimentary breakfast was the best we’ve had out of 100’s of hotels. The bathroom lacked ventilation, though that wasn’t a big deal for my husband and me. We had a heat issue, and Robert sent a maintenance man up within 15 minutes of me letting him know. Robert was wonderful and checked us in quickly, while Patrizia was very sweet and welcoming. They all work as a team, including the housekeepers and maintenance staff. The shower had body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. We’ll be back.

The lobby is beautiful, with nice TVs and a spot to bring in food and eat. The hotel also had a good plan for letting our hockey team have fun while still following the rules. The place was very clean, the breakfast was great, and the front desk staff were helpful and polite.

We had a great stay. The spacious room was comfortable, the pool area was clean and nice, and breakfast was up to the mark. Getting to the Ambassador Bridge, food, and groceries took just a few minutes. A couple of things could be better: we expected a stove in the kitchenette, as in a standard suite, but there wasn’t one. Some cutlery, even disposable, would have helped, and the AC was louder than usual. Still, it was a great experience.
