Super 8 by Wyndham Windsor/Dougall

The room was nice and cool, and the bathroom was updated and clean. Service was great, everyone was friendly, and they let me check in early. The price made it worthwhile, and I'll come back even if the carpets stay as they are. I'll just wear shoes the whole time. The carpets were so dirty that my feet were black by the end of the evening. I had to wash them, and my white sandals are stained black now. They need replacing. Shampooing won't be enough.

It needs major renovations, since cleaning can only do so much. Still, if you need an affordable place to rest for a few hours, it's fine. I wasn't expecting anything spectacular, and it was what I expected. Read the reviews, but don't take them to heart. These days a lot of people seem to expect royalty for pennies. You get what you pay for.

There was snow overnight, and none of it had been salted or cleared. I slipped and nearly fell on the slippery tiles beside the stairs. The room was a mess, with hair in the shower and a lot of damage to the walls and ceiling. The plug for the A/C and heat unit was melted from overheating. There was only one outlet on one side of the king bed, so we couldn't set up our CPAP devices. When we called the front desk about an extension cord or another fix, they said there was nothing they could do. The continental breakfast was advertised inaccurately too, there was no hot food at all. I signed up for the membership rewards program because the promotion said two nights could earn enough points for one or more free nights. Nowhere did it say claiming the points would take 2-4 weeks. Afterward, I found out the points reward was only half of what was needed to stay at this location. Anything by Wyndham has lost my business for life. This place is poorly run, and I'd recommend staying anywhere else.

The room was clean and spacious, and housekeeping did a fabulous job. The staff are very friendly, and breakfast is always well stocked.
