The breakfast was a real highlight, with lots of fresh, quality food and homemade sauces and toppings. Coffee and tea were available in the lobby around the clock, and the pool had plenty of towels even on a busy weekend. The whole place, including the lobby and rooms, was extremely clean. Staff were friendly and went above and beyond, and the airport shuttle was free both ways. One of the best hotel experiences we've had in a long time. Well done, Fairfield management and staff!

I had to cancel a two-night business trip 24 hours ahead because of a family emergency. The confirmation only said fees would be assessed if I needed to cancel. The reservation person said he was checking with a supervisor about waiving them, but the conversation lasted about 30 seconds, so I doubt he actually asked. I was surprised Marriott had a 48-hour rule when most of its hotels have 24 hours, especially after he bragged that the hotel was fully booked. I understand money matters, but some understanding in an emergency goes a long way. I won't book here again.

On my regular work trips, this is easily my favourite Bonvoy property in Winnipeg. The staff, cleanliness, and fabulous breakfast are what make it such a good place. It may not be the Ritz, but the breakfast is definitely above the usual Fairfield offering. They greet me by name and thank me for my loyalty each time. As a Gold member, I've also been lucky enough to get suite upgrades. Special thanks to the Front Desk Manager, whose name I didn't get, and all the housekeeping staff for keeping the property in tiptop shape.

A good option if you'd rather stay out of downtown. The hotel is new, with new rooms, comfortable beds, and working showers, though nothing fancy. It's near the airport, about 10 minutes away or less, and has a shuttle. You need to call for a pickup when you arrive, then book the next morning's ride in advance. It can fill up, so leave it too late and you may need an Uber to the airport.

I lost essentially a whole night's sleep during this stay. Before 4:00 a.m., guests next door were making party-level noise. I knocked once, then contacted the front desk multiple times over several hours. The noise stopped briefly but kept starting again, and the neighbors also harassed me. Management later admitted the situation wasn't handled correctly and promised to follow up, but never did. There were maintenance problems too: the shower temperature swung between very hot and very cold, and the low-flow toilet was finicky. Marriott corporate did ultimately resolve the matter with 20,000 Bonvoy points, which I appreciate. Still, the property didn't manage the noise, guest behavior, or follow-through at the hotel level. This was well below expectations, and I can't recommend it based on my experience.
