Alpenblick Bern

We booked the family XL room, and its double bunk bed worked perfectly for our four. There were dry bags in the room that made floating down the river easy and fun. We also loved the neighborhood, with its great restaurants and bars and the local soccer stadium. The hotel’s beehives and barber shop are a fun idea, too. Service was so friendly, and we enjoyed the nearby places, especially Natalie’s coffee truck outside and the owners at Hello Darling, the restaurant behind. We extended our stay from one night to two and are already planning to return.

They didn’t have the heater turned on, and when we contacted them through the Airbnb app, nobody replied. That’s unacceptable! There wasn’t a hair dryer either. How can that be?

The service was fantastic, and I loved the coffee cart just outside. Grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and the rose garden are all close by. Old town is a 15-minute walk, or you can take the bus.

Everything here is good. The single-person rooms are really comfortable and distinctive, and they use the limited space very efficiently. Breakfast is good and arrives outside your room at 6:30. The staff are friendly and very humane, cheers to them. I’d stay here again if I get the chance to visit Switzerland.
