Hotel Victoria

We were given a corner room on the second floor, with an amazing view, and it was spacious. The staff were helpful and kept our luggage after checkout so we could walk around the street. The hotel is right in front of Brig railway station, just a minute away, but it is very old and the rooms have an old, negative feel to them. Breakfast was disappointing: bread, croissants, cheese, butter, coffee, some fruit that wasn't very fresh, and boiled eggs that weren't cooked properly. There isn't much to do here. It felt like an average hotel and a little overpriced.

The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. It's a proper old-fashioned hotel, with good housekeeping and concierge service. A little dated, but everything was clean. At night the room stayed a bit bright because the curtains could've been better. The double glazing worked well, and the location opposite the station is great. Brig is a nice town. The food was good, though it wasn't always ready at the agreed time, and the evening meal choice had to be requested the night before. I think that was because our group was so large. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is handy for train travel. My room was clean and the shower excellent, but it looked onto a flat roof. It was quiet, still I felt disappointed when some of the others in our group had better rooms and balconies. I'd recommend the place, but ask for a particular room if you can.

Breakfast was lovely, with meats, cheese, fruit, croissants, bread and jam, juice and coffee, served on a pretty terrace with flowers and trees. The hotel is friendly and in a great spot opposite the station. I had a nice room with a balcony and French Windows, which I left open all night. The day had been in the thirties, and although it cooled off at night, it was still warm. Tea and coffee were provided in the room, but I would've liked a little fridge too.
