Hotel Frieden

The rooms are really comfortable and have the basic things a traveler needs. It’s an affordable, clean, friendly place to stay in Davos. Marc Jecklin, the owner, was attentive to what we needed throughout the visit. I’d recommend staying with Marc and his mom.

The shared bathroom and toilet were kept very clean, and there was a wash basin in my room. Towels were changed when I asked. The common balcony had lovely views, and nights were very quiet. The hosts were wonderful and very friendly, and the stay was excellent, though Switzerland in general is a little expensive. After I asked, they offered very good vegetarian choices. Breakfast included healthy options like milk, cheese, fruit, vegetables, bread, and croissants each day. The location is convenient and charming, close to Davos Platz station. It’s easy to find because the tall church is visible around town and the hotel is at its foot. Just behind Frieden, a short walk leads to mountain trails and a stream. We enjoyed evening strolls there, or you can walk for a long way down by the river. The jakobshorn cable car is very close, as is the schtazalp cable car. Spar and Migros supermarkets are nearby too. Totally recommend!

The host speaks excellent English and gave helpful advice about things to do nearby. The free Davos/Klosters tourist card was a great extra, covering trains, buses, funiculars, and cable cars. This friendly, comfortable little hotel is close to the rail station, has good wi-fi and English TV channels for catching up on the news, and serves a lovely free breakfast.

The view is lovely when you open the curtains and see the fascinating mountainside without snow. Thanks to the Frieden Hotel for the warm welcome and top-notch service. Glad I got to stay here, merci!
