It's central, cheap and felt safe, but sleeping was hard and the floors need a proper clean. The capsules have no ventilation, so they get hotter the longer you're inside. My phone even stopped charging because it was "too hot." Lights kept coming on and going off overnight, so bring an eye mask and earplugs. There's no separation between areas, and for some reason they thought beeping lockers were a good idea. People leave their shoes outside the capsule, so from a lower one, all you smell is feet. The bathrooms weren't clean. The showers are odd too: you can't set the temperature, so there's no cold shower when you need one. If you take too long, the lights switch off, and you can't turn them back on from inside. After staying there, I can't understand the five-star reviews.

The price still bothers me weeks later. I paid over $70 for a dorm shared with 20 other people, nearly twice the usual rate across Europe, and all I wanted was a night's sleep. I told management about my concerns directly, but they brushed me off, so I'm posting this as a warning. I don't usually leave bad reviews and would rather have a useful conversation. There is no air conditioning, which I understand is apparently the law in Geneva and outside management's control. But there's no fan or usable window to air out the pod either. It felt like sleeping in a cardboard oven, around 80 degrees. I kept waking in a hot sweat, and at points I thought about sleeping on a park bench instead. It was genuinely the worst night of sleep I've had. If management wants to respond, they can come to me with my money in hand. Otherwise, forget replying.

The lower capsule got really hot once the curtains were drawn, and there wasn't a good way to get air moving. I'd pack shorts for sleeping, and an eye mask too, since the automatic lights come on overnight and shine into the capsule. Still, Green Marmot Capsule is a good option if you're on a budget and want to be central in Geneva. It's quiet, clean and comfortable. The train station is walkable, bus connections are excellent, and there are good places to eat nearby.

The place was immaculately clean, and I have no cleanliness complaints. But I hated it enough to leave several hours early. Noise from other guests was part of it: someone started shouting briefly between 5:00AM and 5:30AM, though I don't know if they were asleep or being bothered by someone. It woke me, and I showered and left hours ahead of plan. One phone alarm can be heard by all 20 or so people, since every capsule opens onto one small hallway rather than rooms with four, six or eight beds. The heat was another problem. There was no ventilation or fan, and no windows in the pods that opened. Geneva's strict AC laws aren't my complaint; there was simply zero airflow. It was about 31°C outside, and by morning it felt much hotter inside. The shower water temperature couldn't be adjusted, so a cold shower wasn't an option either. Lights were also badly placed: each hallway section had one automatic sensor, so the light could go out while you were trying to get into a pod at the end. The switch inside was at the far end, out of reach. In the bathroom, the sensor by the sliding entrance couldn't be reached from the shower, so when the light went out I had to grab my towel, go to the entrance, switch it on, then return to the shower. I also have serious security concerns. Guests enter using a keypad code at two doors, but that's all that stands between someone outside and everyone in the hotel. Apart from bathroom stalls, there are no locking doors, and nowhere to barricade yourself if you need to use the Run-Hide-Fight model against a violent intruder. If the front window were smashed, there'd be nowhere to hide. While you're sleeping, there's only a curtain between you and the rest of the hotel. Good luck with that. It seemed to me like an office building turned into a hotel, designed to squeeze money out of young people while prioritizing efficiency. Noise, heat, awkward lights and security made for a bad stay. Thanks for reading all of this. I hope you save your money.

The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless, and the location and privacy were great. I also liked having a personal locker that didn't need a key. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the heat: there was no air conditioning or fan, and it felt extremely hot all night.
