HOOD Hôtel

A really lovely hotel with beautiful decor, a nice location and friendly staff. I just wish the breakfast buffet had a vegan choice, even something simple like plant-based yogurt.

The shower is small and sits very close to the toilet, which was the biggest downside for me. At first I disliked the small room too, but once I settled in, it really wasn't so bad. This was my second time staying Geneva, and Hood has a lot of charm. I thought the bed was great, despite other reviews calling it hard. The pillows could be better, though: there were only two for a queen bed, and they were hard. There is a charger beside the headboard, if you look for it. I believe they don't offer room service, and laundry service is slow. Would I stay again? Yes.

The room was really comfortable, and the Wi-Fi hit 200 Mbps, which was impressively fast. There’s no hotel parking, but the paid public car park right next door made that easy. A charming little place, solidly three-star and maybe a bit better. I liked it quite a lot.

The staff were good, apart from the owner, but the rooms were cramped and uncomfortable. In a double room, there was barely space to leave a suitcase open and still open the door. The beds and pillows were very hard, and breakfast choices were poor, though the bread was good. The bigger headache was payment. Even two weeks after checkout, the hotel was still trying to charge the cards we had used at check-in, despite everything being paid. Their system seemed confused: the deposit was refunded, charged again during our stay, refunded at checkout, and then they asked for it again. I don't know if this is because they're new, but it was very problematic.
