The balcony view was fantastic and the room itself was nice, but we had a serious security concern. Someone unlocked and opened our door with a key around 8am on our checkout day, well before checkout time. The receptionist said it might have been the cleaner, without looking into it further. I’d expect a cleaner to knock before opening a door. I hope it really was the cleaner and not another guest opening our door by mistake because the keys are common.

We gave the stay 7 out of 10. The room was a reasonable size, if not especially big, and came with a fully equipped kitchen, fridge, microwave, and rice cooker. The bathroom was nice and the shower temperature stayed steady, though the shower area was a little cramped. There’s no air conditioning, but the cool weather made it comfortable with the windows open. The location is convenient, about a ten-minute walk from Grindelwald station, with the “First” station five minutes away and “Pfingstegg” station about 5-10 minutes away. We arrived at 11am, well before the 3pm check-in time, expecting to leave our bags and wait. Instead, the polite, helpful receptionist let us check in early. Laundry service is available for around 20 CHF.

We had a balcony and a great mountain view from our unit. The apartment was clean and comfy, and the kitchen was simple but complete. We stayed four nights.

The room had the best views we’ve ever had, and the place itself is beautiful. The beds were quite uncomfortable, though, which makes it hard to rest properly when you’re hiking and doing activities. Apart from that, all was good.

We especially loved the chalet’s location and the views from our appartement, absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were spacious, clean, and felt safe, and there was a secure garage for our car. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed, though there was no dishwasher. The bathroom was spacious and clean too, and reception was friendly.
