Cascada Boutique Hotel

The rooms were comfortable and big enough, and the breakfast was very good. Location is great, parking is easy and close, and Bolero restaurant is nice with a great culinary experience. A couple of things brought it down for us: the double beds are very small, which made sleeping comfortably difficult, and reception wasn't always helpful. One staff member in particular seemed bothered by any question and had a very sour disposition.

I was in town on business and commuting to Rotkreuz, and Cascada Hotel Luzern made that easy. It's very close to the train station, with a pleasant short walk into central Luzern. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely designed. It was on the small side but laid out well for a business stay. The complimentary minibar was much appreciated after long workdays. I only missed having an iron. Everything else met or exceeded expectations, and I'd happily stay again. I recommend Cascada Hotel Luzern for work or leisure.

The hotel was accessible and fairly close to the station, but much of the stay felt mediocre. We couldn't adjust the room temperature at the console, and opening the window to clear the stuffiness meant hearing traffic all night. The thin walls also let us hear noisy guests next door laughing, talking, and clanging around late at night. At 0830H, someone, perhaps a cleaner, came into our room and only then realized we were still asleep. The noise woke both of us, and we were shocked someone tried to enter so early. I'm sure cleaning at 0830H isn't common practice. When we asked the front desk attendant which Christmas markets nearby we could visit, all we got was a few disinterested shrugs and “it's up to you.” Questions didn't seem welcome, so Google will be your best friend here. I'd consider staying if accessibility is what you're after, but otherwise do your due diligence on other places.

We stayed two nights as a family of two adults and two kids, aged 8 and 11. The hotel was spacious, clean, and a good choice for family travel. It's about 400 m, or a five-minute walk, from the train station. The staff were always helpful and offered early check-in after my overnight flight, so my family could shower and get ready to start the day.
