B&B Kalimera Pratteln

We especially enjoyed the fresh, healthy breakfast and all the little touches at B&B Kalimera. The apartments are lovely and quite distinctive, and the house has charming old-fashioned details, even things like an old cell phone. Such a nice guest house. I’d happily recommend it for a stay in Switzerland.

The people were really kind, the rooms were very good, and breakfast was all organic. Pratteln station is about a seven-minute walk away.

The hosts were so kind and helpful, and we felt genuinely welcome. Breakfast was worth booking separately: there was a good variety of quality food, excellent homemade jams, and they even asked whether we wanted eggs made to order. You need to arrange the time with the owners in advance. My sister and I were only there for one night, and although we usually prefer hotels, we had a really lovely stay. The beds were cozy and comfortable, and our room was spotless, had towels, and even had our name on the door. The bathroom was tidy, with soap, clean towels and a tray for used ones. It’s just a few minutes on foot from Pratteln train station, so getting there was easy. The owners had stepped out when we arrived, but welcomed us by phone, gave us the entry code and clearly explained in English where the room, kitchen and shared bathroom were. We were asked to leave our shoes by the entrance for hygiene, and slippers were provided. The old house has been renovated and decorated beautifully, though the stairs and floors do creak a lot. The owners had warned us about the noise when we booked, and earplugs were in the room. We heard that other guests might be heading to the bathroom or downstairs late or early, but our night was peaceful and we slept well. If we come back to Pratteln, we’ll remember this place.

The owner was kind and ready to help, and breakfast was both generous and excellent. Our clean, welcoming room had a comfortable bed and was in a quiet part of town. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.
