The room itself was clean, but that counts for little when you can end up sleeping in your car. Another guest had done exactly that after arriving late and finding her entry code wouldn’t work. I stayed for one night this weekend. Booking through booking.com was easy, but the trouble started with the requirements: I had to send a photo ID and pay a 200 Euro damage deposit plus tourist tax. Since there’s no staff on site, it took about four emails and a phone call to confirm it wasn’t a scam. This should be made very obvious in the terms and conditions. You’re given codes for the hotel and your room. When I asked what to do if a code failed, I was told it always worked. The main door happened to be open when I arrived, and my room code worked then. At 08.00 I went out for breakfast and met the other guest in the car park. I helped her try the front door, but her code still failed. Then mine stopped working too, leaving me locked out of both the hotel and my room at 08.00, with no bathroom, shower, or toilet access. We both called customer support and only got an answering system. I bought breakfast and ate in my car, then started the day without a shower and found a public bathroom to brush my teeth and get ready. At 10.30 they called back with a code that might let me into my room, but by then I’d already driven away as planned. I complained and asked for a refund, not vouchers or a discount on a future stay. They offered 15% off a future booking, which I turned down because I don’t intend to book here again. Don’t stay here unless you’re comfortable with the possibility of sleeping in your car.
