Hotel Maria

The rooms are a good size, clean, and have plenty of storage. The bathroom is modern and spacious, and the food is superb. The hotel team were friendly, welcoming, and very efficient. It’s in an excellent spot for getting to all kinds of beautiful walks. We’ll definitely return to Hotel Maria for more walking.

Easy to reach by bus from St Moritz station, and the location is excellent. The room was clean and spacious, with lovely amenities. I especially liked the soap and shampoo. The furniture has a vintage style. Breakfast had a pretty good selection, and the service was friendly. Everyone in the restaurant and at reception was welcoming and helpful. The price is very reasonable for this area. I’d definitely recommend it.

We didn’t stay at Hotel Maria, and I regret that now. The nearby hotel where we’re staying charges SFR 3 for half a liter of tap water. At Hotel Maria, tap water is free, as it should be everywhere. I’m just waiting until we leave our hotel to write a review about it. We got such a warm welcome at Hotel Maria when we asked if lunch was still possible, even though it was almost 14:00. They replied, “Please, you are welcome!” The food was amazingly tasty, the waiter was very friendly and attentive, and the wine by the glass was top quality. Impeccable service and food, and the dessert was incredible too. This place is a gem to visit while exploring this beautiful region.

The town is idyllic, like something out of a movie, and our rooms were perfectly clean and charming. Everyone was helpful. Still, the hotel felt much too fancy for us. We found ourselves checking Google to figure out what to do with the unfamiliar shapes of the real silver, like fish forks, and other guests weren’t shy about looking down on our hiking clothes. The staff were friendly and accommodating, but we felt out of our league. If you like 4-star hotels, this place is for you. Our other 3-star stays around Switzerland suited us better, so this one feels mis-rated.
