The Gmischtä Winterblattsalat was great, and so was the bread. We had the daily special and some Chürbissuppä mit Öpfel, though the food we ordered tasted a bit saltier than we’re used to. Maybe we’d have appreciated more salt after sweating more on our pre-dinner hike. I enjoyed the vinegar tasting, and I’m still wondering how the salt bar works and whether you can sample all the different salts. That’s one reason I’d be interested in visiting again. If I do, I’d like to ask about the salt bar and find a menu item that suits my palate better.

The Wiener schnitzel is the best up in the hills! It’s quiet, with church bells at four in the morning, tractors in the afternoon during siesta, and green hills stretching as far as you can see. Horses and bikes, a slow country pace. Nice for a rest, but it gets boring after a while. The decor is very old and needs a lift.
