The spa, included with the hotel, was a great experience: natural hot pools indoors and out, where we could enjoy an Aperol Spritz or Lavendel Gugo and watch the sunset behind the mountains. Breakfast was very good too, with lots of local food. The location and views are fantastic, with lakes and mountains all around. In late autumn, you can enjoy sunny days while looking out over a sea of fog across the lowlands.

This restaurant used to be a great place for lunch after hiking around Rigi, but the service has really gone downhill. Instead of proper table service, you now wait ten minutes in a queue just to get a beeper, then another twenty minutes for your food. The food is average for the price. When McDonald's gives better service than your restaurant, something has gone seriously wrong.

This is only about the restaurant. The tables were dirty, which made the meal feel pretty sad. My spaghetti Aglio e Olio was just oil with three steamed tomatoes, no garlic or Peperoncino. The curry had no flavor either, and the two broccoli florets were bland and looked sad. At least the broccoli wasn't overcooked.

The spa was a lovely place to unwind, though it got much busier in the afternoons. If you can, use the residents-only morning session. We had a great view from our room and enjoyed the food, which wasn't too expensive for the location. One thing to watch: the steps in the deluxe rooms, from the bedroom area, are very steep. It didn't affect our stay much, but at six months pregnant and a bit uncoordinated, I had to be careful. We really enjoyed staying here.

The spa and bathing area were great, and the view and location were phenomenal. Staff were friendly and helpful, and both the buffet and menu options were delicious. A few things let it down: Wi-Fi barely worked in my room, the lobby, or the restaurant, and I couldn't reliably load even a newspaper site. The TV had no HDMI access, so streaming wasn't an option. I also had Halbpension, which cost an extra 50 CHF a day for dinner, but even a glass of water wasn't included. A bottle cost me another 8.50 CHF.
