Hotel Thurgauerhof Self-Check-in

The hotel's in the city center, so everything you need is within walking distance. Prices are expensive, but that's normal in Switzerland. Parking is available in the garage or outside. Breakfast is all you can eat at the bakery next door, and it’s marvelous. It’s a good 3 star hotel: the older rooms are okay, while the new rooms are much better. 🇮🇹🇨🇭🇹🇭

The location is good, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. My room felt depressing, with old furniture, cobwebs, and big black spiders everywhere. The walls are thin enough that I could hear every sound from other rooms, and breakfast was poor. The staff made the stay worse. Housekeeping seemed unfriendly, and the man at reception kept arguing with guests and acting unprofessionally. He made a problem out of simple things he was paid to handle, like renewing room cards. If you want a pleasant stay, choose somewhere else.

I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels and have never felt so unwelcome. Asking a simple question at the door got me a rude response: the receptionist covered her face with her hand as if I were an animal. The male receptionist acted like I was in his house threatening his family. The value for money was the worst I’ve experienced, and it was so expensive that I wouldn’t stay there even if I were paid. The reply to my review just confirms what I said about the unprofessional behavior. You don’t respond to a guest like that. I was never in your “house” without a mask!

The internet was horrible, and the housekeeping was poor. They didn't even bother to mop the floor. The guy at reception was rude and unprofessional. They required us to wear masks at reception, but staff members and other guests weren't wearing them. The receptionist also didn't know whether the hotel had a gym and refused to ask a manager.
