Breakfast was terrific and plentiful, and they even provide baggies and bread for takeaway sandwiches. The Junior Suites are roomy with great Matterhorn views, and the staff were helpful throughout our stay. The hotel’s own exclusive elevator to the gondola station was the best part, so cool and convenient. Berghof is one of the best examples of a Swiss family-owned and run hotel in Zermatt.

Our junior suite felt roomy and comfortable, and the employees were polite. Breakfast was nice too. The hotel is a little way from the train station, but they drive you there and pick you up. Definitely recommend it.

The Matterhorn view is wide open, and the staff at this fantastic resort were great. The hotel is just 5 meters from the Klein Matterhorn lift, with a private entrance to the lift. Call ahead and they can collect you in their electric bus. The porter who picks you up will take your things where they need to go, so remember to tip. One note about the spa: it follows the European style, so men and women may be undressed together in the sauna and steam rooms.

I went on my own this time and had the loveliest stay at Hotel Berghof. The views took my breath away, the food was great, and the spa was a wonderful extra. Everyone on staff was kind and helpful. I can't wait to come back with family and friends.
