I’d avoid rentals offered by the Interhome group. They’re only booking agents and don’t help when problems come up. Their response takes more than eight hours, and they just tell you to contact the host, who doesn’t answer.
Apartment 401 in Utoring is clean, nice, and spacious enough for two adults and children, with a beautiful Matterhorn view. The key-holder’s unfriendly manner really spoiled the experience. The contract says 300 CHF must be paid in cash before you can get in. She speaks neither English nor German, and when my wife didn’t have the cash with her, she and our daughter weren’t allowed inside. They only got in after a friend who was there and speaks Italian had a stern word with her. The kitchen is okay, but there’s no frying pan or coffee machine, just a percolator from the 70s. We found only three-quarters of a toilet roll and no basic kitchen items like salt or pepper, so you have to buy everything. My guess is that anything left behind would be taken by the key-holder.
It was clean and good value for money, with a spectacular view of the Matterhorn. The location is great, close to both the train station and the city center.
Lovely, clean place. I loved it.
