I stayed for a couple of nights just before Christmas and slept very comfortably. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the beds were very comfortable too. Since the hotel is central in the historic neighborhood, walking through town was a great way to get a feel for the city. I'll definitely spend more time there.

The hotel is above a restaurant and in a great location. A standard breakfast at the restaurant is included. The room was tiny but fine for a night or two, though staying longer would get a bit inconvenient.

At Hotel Old Town, Zürich, we let them know well in advance that we needed to leave the rooms early, at 7.30 am, and asked if they could provide an early or slightly packed breakfast. The reception staff met the request with irritated snorts and no understanding. We got no breakfast, even though it had been prepaid, and there was no refund or compensation. The reception on arrival was below all standards.

Our room was small and only had the basics. It was central, but noisy at night and early in the morning, so earplugs are a good idea. Check-in happens at the restaurant downstairs, where the staff weren't welcoming or friendly. We felt like second-class citizens compared with the restaurant's guests. The room was too warm, and the AC wasn't on or working.

The location was great, with shops and restaurants close by and public transport easy to reach on foot. Our room was okay, though it wasn't very clean, especially the bathroom. Since I wasn't alone, the broken deadbolt and the main door often being propped open were manageable, but I don't know that I would have felt fully safe staying there by myself.
