Cabañas Don Hugo

The caretaker was very nice, though she was constantly fussing when she was alone 😄. I hope the owner pays attention to the problems. We booked five days but left after just one night because the cabin smelled strongly of damp, and the carpet was moldy. The entrance staircase was unstable and unsafe, and my mother twisted her ankle. We also heard noise from other cabins, and it smelled as if one might be used to grow marijuana.

We stayed only one day, a month ago (January 2020), and it was a complete disaster. The cabin was very poor quality, with dirty carpets, terrible ventilation, and uncomfortable beds. The refrigerator didn’t work, only the freezer, and the owner knew but hadn’t warned us. There was no gas, and the bathtub was dirty when we arrived.

The cabins are cozy, the location is great with everything nearby, and it’s a quiet place to relax. Parking is included, and the owners are a 7 out of 7. I’ll definitely be back.

We left after one night, despite paying cash on arrival for two, because the cabin was in such poor condition and the person in charge refused a refund. She wouldn’t come to the cabin to look into our complaints or inspect it when we checked out, and only gave us the receipt. She identified herself only as the owner’s wife. There was no registration book for us to identify ourselves, and when we asked for firewood for the stove, she said it would be brought that night. It was very cold at the time. For our own good and our daughters’, we decided to leave after using the place for just one night. The cabin itself was nice, but I’ve never had such poor service. The person in charge was very dismissive. It was filthy and in terrible condition. The bedding smelled awful, so we slept fully clothed. There was grease in the oven, and the dishes were filthy and very unsanitary. They tried to make it seem clean and hygienic with lots of air freshener. When we arrived, the cleaning person was taking out several empty liquor bottles and sweeping here and there. Every winter vacation, we travel through the south to different cities and stay only in cabins. This was a regrettable choice. I’d recommend this place only to my worst enemy.
