Hotel Paso Nevado

For 12,000 pesos, it’s an affordable place to stay for a night or during the day, and I’d recommend it if you’re after somewhere cheap. The hostel and bathrooms were clean, the rooms were warm, and the beds were comfortable. There’s a TV, plus a tidy self-service dining area. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The service was excellent and the place was very clean. The rooms and bathrooms could use some infrastructure improvements, but they’re minor things and didn’t get in the way of enjoying the stay.

We found Hostal Maya quiet and affordable, with a central spot just a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas in Chillán and easy access to public transport. My family and I stayed there, and the staff were attentive and very friendly. It was always clean. Our room had a private bathroom, table and chairs, a mini-fridge, and a fan. There’s also a café with tables, chairs, a microwave, a stove, dishes, and a thermos of hot water available all the time. Hostal Maya is a branch of the Hotel O'Higgins in Chillán, just a short walk away. I’d recommend it to tourists and families with children.

It’s clean, the service is very good, and it feels really safe to stay here, whether for the night or during the day. Comfortable and quiet, too.
