We paid 30000 in the off season for a private room with a shared bathroom, which felt very expensive compared with 20000 for a private room and private bathroom 20km away in Papudo. We got locked out because the keys wouldn't open the building, and there was no staff around. Later, the water stopped running, so we couldn't shower or use the bathrooms, and again there was nobody around to tell. On the plus side, the kitchen was well stocked and the people who worked there were nice, just hard to find. Expensive hostel.

The beach is just a stone’s throw away, and the hosts were nice. The bed was comfy too, though the bathrooms and showers could use a lot of work.

I came by myself in the off-season, and the hosts made me feel incredibly welcome. They taught me to surf, took me to some great parties, lent me a car for a day trip, and even drove me to my next destination because they wanted to surf there too. When a big group arrived near the end of my stay and booked everything, the owner offered me a spot at his home. That evening I even got to barbecue with his family and friends. This is a real surfer hostel, so it’s not the place for luxury or peace and quiet. But if you want to try new things and meet people, I can’t imagine anywhere better. Thank you so much!
