At the address, around 7:30 PM on the day we were due to stay, we found no operating hotel. At km 4.2 on the road to volcano Villarica, there was the “Bambulodge Pucón” sign we had seen on Google maps, but the very narrow track beyond it was choked with dense scrub and kept narrowing. After about 100 m, we came across two men clearing the brush. They said the hotel had gone bankrupt more than a year earlier and was for sale; one said he was the interim manager of the property. We had booked through hotels.com in February 2025 for January 2026, and had never been told that the place was no longer operating. In peak season, finding somewhere else to stay in Pucón was not at all easy. The experience was very unpleasant, and hotels.com surprisingly declined to publish my feedback. I wish the new owners success. The former and/or new owner could have acted professionally and with consideration for customers by informing me in good time that the hotel had long since stopped operating, especially with my reservation confirmed.

I arrived with a reservation, but there was nobody there to greet me. No staff, no guests, just an abandoned-looking place off the road. Luckily I could cancel through booking.com, so I left and booked somewhere else. It looks like a horror movie. Don't go there.

The service was easily the best part. The lady serving us was incredibly kind. There are only a few rooms, which makes the place feel cozy, and the rooms are comfortable and very nice. The breakfast was fantastic, and the pool and hot tubs are included in the price. It’s in a great spot away from the noise, perfect for relaxing. The rate is a little high compared with hotels closer to the center, but I felt it was worth it. The garden could use some work, though, especially around the pool, where trees have overgrown the area. Still, it’s a perfect place.
