Hostal La Morenita - Hostel

We had the eight-bed room to ourselves, which was lucky since there wasn’t much space for bags. The room and main doors couldn’t be locked, though the area felt secure. There are just two bathrooms, each with a toilet, shower, and sink. The place was clean and breakfast was basic. The hostel is fairly well located, with a supermarket and restaurants nearby. Check-in was a bit hard with our limited Spanish, but we managed in the end.

A lovely family-run spot where you feel like part of the group. The kitchen and living room are nice, and there aren’t too many beds.

The family lives at the hostel and they’re helpful and friendly. It’s clean and warm, and close to the center. Since it’s above a restaurant, there can be noise at night. Breakfast is very basic, and laundry costs a rather steep $5000 no matter how much you need washed.

The girl working there was very nice and arranged a taxi and gave us useful information. The rest of the place was awful, the dirtiest I’ve ever seen. All three bathrooms and the kitchen were in an unacceptable state. There were no lockers, so everyone’s belongings were scattered across the floor of a small room with lots of bunks. There were very few outlets, too.
