The kitchen is shared, but it's clean and handy when you feel like cooking. Showers stay hot, and the small bedrooms were still comfortable. It's a solid place to stay, a little off the main drag, which suited me fine.

The rooms are small and don't get much ventilation, but I had a positive stay and would recommend it to a friend. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the kitchen was well equipped and open all the time. They also provide free coffee, milk, cereals and water. Getting to the city center is easy, and it's close by.

The owner was incredibly helpful and friendly. While we were touring Bolivia, she let us leave our car safely at her house for several days, which was far beyond what we'd expect. We felt well looked after and would gladly come back. Hostal Desert in San Pedro de Atacama was quiet, nice and very clean, and the staff were lovely. Highly recommend.

It's about a 10-minute walk to downtown, in a safe, peaceful neighborhood. The hostel kept things really clean, and the staff were friendly. We got a full breakfast every day, and the kitchen was tidy and pleasant to use. There was free drinking water and tea too, plus hot water. One of my favorite hostels on my South American trip!

The staff were so kind and went out of their way to make the stay great. There's a well-equipped kitchen and a basic breakfast for free. Excellent hostel.
