Lodge Quelana feels like a peaceful oasis just outside San Pedro de Atacama. The local style is beautifully done and tasteful, and everything was exceptionally clean. Its calm, grounding atmosphere made it a lovely place to slow down and rest after exploring the desert. The team’s hospitality is what really makes the place special. They’re kind, attentive, genuinely welcoming, and always ready to help. We felt very well looked after and would highly recommend Lodge Quelana to anyone wanting comfort, quiet, and authentic warmth.

My wife and I spent six nights here and really liked the service, food, and accommodations. The lodge is a few kilometers outside the main town, which was perfect for us since we didn’t want to stay right in the middle of San Pedro. If you don’t have a car and want to walk around town at night and back to your hotel, though, this location won’t work well. For us it was ideal, and we’d highly recommend it!

We didn’t have a car, but the lodge arranged taxis to and from town whenever we needed them. It’s just outside San Pedro de Atacama, and really beautiful. The service was the best, breakfast was great, and there was complimentary tea and coffee throughout the day. They also had sunscreen for sale and helped with breakfast bags for early tours, plus late check-in and checkout.

The property is beautiful, the rooms feel luxurious, and the front desk staff were especially helpful. The woman at reception even arranged a cab back from town after I messaged her on WhatsApp. Laundry left for pickup in the morning came back clean and dry by the end of the day. It’s an 8-11 minute drive from town, and taxis can be hard to find. Ask the front desk to arrange rides both ways, or sometimes you can get a taxi driver’s WhatsApp and message when you need a pickup. A few practical things: confirm your arrival time with the front desk by email or WhatsApp the day before. Reception is open from 7:30am until around 7:30-8pm, so message them promptly if your flight is late. Ours was, and they kindly let us check in after dinner in town, before 10pm. Thank you, Lodge Quelana!!! They provide two small bottles of water and refill one glass bottle in the room, but buy more in town if you’re heading out on excursions. And if you have to leave before 8am, tell them ahead of time. They brought our breakfast to the room the night before.

We spent a few nights here on our honeymoon and loved it. The place felt cozy, and the staff were so attentive and friendly. We stayed at pricier luxury hotels during the trip, but this was our favorite.
