Lodge y Cabañas Rio Yaye

The outdoor space has plenty of tables and chairs, and the basic pool was refreshing. But there’s nothing else nearby, and you can’t walk anywhere. A car is a must. Finding the place was extremely difficult. A few numbers or a small sign would make things much less stressful. No one answered the door for a long time. When I finally spoke to the caretaker, she said she wasn’t expecting guests. The owner was away and hadn’t told her we were coming, so we had to pull up our reservation and show her our WhatsApp messages with the owner. She kept asking which cabanas we were staying in, then must have reached the owner and let us in. The rooms were dusty, and one toilet had urine in it. The kitchen had only basic items and no bowls, so we ate cereal out of small coffee mugs. The stove was a joke: it was missing a knob, and only one of its six burners worked. There were at least four, maybe six dogs on the property, barking early every morning. There was no shampoo or soap in the bathrooms. The green dish soap by the sink was what we had for washing our hands. The sponge was gross, and there were no dish towels, hand towels, or napkins. The sink knob was very hard to turn off, so water kept dripping.

We enjoyed our stay. There was a nice atmosphere, and the pool was good for soaking up some sun. Thanks!

Quiet, comfortable, and just lovely. I’d love to come back.

The maid, Vivian, was excellent, friendly, and very attentive. There’s a large patio with a children’s playground, a roomy barbecue area, and a good-sized pool, though we didn’t use it. You can park outside the property or under a thatched roof. We were locked in our cabin room because the lock was broken and wouldn’t turn. We had to take out the screws to open the door. They said there was a debit card system, but didn’t explain that it was only available in San Pedro, not at the cabins.
