Hostal del Muelle

Nice room in an old-world house. It was a little cold, and breakfast was decent.

The location made the stay for us. It’s near both the riverfront and city center, and there’s a great café across the street with a river view. The hostel itself is friendly and quiet, though traffic is still quite audible in the morning despite the soundproofing. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom spotless, but getting the shower temperature right was tricky. We were there during very rainy weather, and there was no heating or place to dry our clothes. Breakfast is self-service, with cheese, cold cuts, yogurt, cereal, fruit, jam, and butter. You can use the kitchen for anything else, as long as you leave it as you found it. Communication was good when we had requests, and we could leave our belongings there until 9 pm because our flights were very late.

The mattresses felt quite worn, and I didn’t find them very comfortable. Still, the staff were really kind, the price was accessible, and breakfast was included. We could use the kitchen to heat water, use the microwave, and eat with the dishes there, then leave everything as it was. It’s a few blocks from the waterfront and the moll, and we walked everywhere. They also have a parking arrangement where you only pay from 11 to 18h.
