The convenient location was the only reason I booked, but for just $50 more you could get a much better place in somewhere like Tai Kok Tsui. That’s subjective, so I’ll leave cost-effectiveness to the end. This might be fine for a night or two, but after living here for two weeks I’m sure I wouldn’t do that again. I was in Flat F, and there was no soundproofing. Every night at 9pm, a granny opened her door and played loud Chinese music or radio through speakers. On the seventh night, a couple moved in and had an ear-splitting argument; people from other flats came to see what was happening. The noise was bearable, but it still made the stay worse. Security also concerned me: there are two doors between the room and the elevator hall, but the first was usually left open, and the elevators had no ID card reader, so anyone could reach the corridor outside my room. The bed was at most 175cm long, and I’m 177cm, so I had to sleep diagonally to keep my feet from hitting the wall. I never slept well during those two weeks. The room was also like a prison cell or cage, with no window or natural light at all. I’m used to going to bed and getting up early, but I can imagine someone with a normal routine having their body clock thrown off by a long stay. Service was okay. None of the staff could manage a basic conversation in English, so non-local travelers should have a translator ready, for example to ask for cleaning, which isn’t done unless you call. There’s no “Do Not Disturb” sign either.

There was nobody at the front desk for over two hours. It was only the cleaning lady who told us to come back at 4pm. It was raining, and my wife was with me. Really bad.

I’ve stayed here before. It was a good place to rest and spend time with family. 😊

The room was nice and clean.
