Sweet Heart Guest House

Traveling alone, I found the location central and easy to reach. Causeway Bay Station is about a 10-minute walk, and the A11 airport city bus stop on Sugar Road is around 15 minutes away. Before arriving, follow the map directions carefully. The place shares Phoenix Apartment block with other hostel names and has no sign for "Sweet Heart Guest House." Outside is a Public Light Bus stop and waiting area. Hysan Place shopping block is across the road, and Lee Garden One is right next door. Happy Valley Race Course, Ikea, and Victoria Park are each about a 15-minute walk. I was lucky to get Room 112 on the first floor, level with the check-in counter, instead of an upstairs unit. I expected the room to be small by Hong Kong standards, but it was bigger than I thought. Staff couldn't speak English, though check-in was quick and easy. A smile might make their day. If you need to find reception, look for the "Jing Ping Hotel" sign in the first-floor corridor. It's a tiny counter with room for one staff member. My room was clean and quiet, with no window, an attached shower and toilet, and comfortable beds. They provided a comforter instead of blankets. The room and bathroom were bright, with tiled floors and walls. The ventilation fan was noisy, but could be switched off separately for sleeping. The LED TV used Wi-Fi and downloaded so slowly it was basically useless. My phone was better for entertainment and keeping in touch with family and friends. There was no closet or clothing hook, so I folded clothes on the bed or hung them on the shower rack. Bring hangers if you can. The room deposit was HKD100, and towel deposit HKD50. I brought my own towel. Slippers and toilet paper were provided. There was no bidet, and you pretty much shower where you go to the toilet. The shower had shampoo and body wash dispensers and hot water. A hot and cold drinking water dispenser was in the first-floor common area, overlooking the road and buildings. Upper-floor units may have a different or unavailable common area. The room door used a keyless card, and a 4-PIN code was needed to enter the corridor. There was no extra lock or latch inside the room door, so I put my luggage against it at night. A security guard was on the ground floor by the lifts, and a Chinese restaurant was just a few steps away in the same building. Convenience shops like 7-11 and K-Circle were all around, including across the road. It was worth the money since I was out early and only came back at night. For the trip, I picked up a pre-booked Klook 3G SIM card with calls at the airport. It worked for five days and had fast downloads everywhere. I also recommend considering the A11 airport bus to see the sights on the way into the city, then an Airport Express single-ride ticket bundled with three days of unlimited MTR rides. I found it worthwhile for getting around without worrying about each fare. The card was also an Octopus card, which I topped up with cash for the Star Ferry, trams, food, and shopping at most places. For the price, this is very cheap accommodation in a great part of Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Staff speak limited English, but they're genuinely nice and helpful. It's basic and very inexpensive, so keep that in mind when judging it. I explored all over H.K., and SweetHearts G.H. was a good place to return to for sleep. Be careful: they don't offer luggage storage. If you complain, they may suggest leaving without a penalty, but then charge you the full price anyway.

The equipment is inadequate, the location is bad, and the service is poor. Please offer residents a discount for level 3 and 5 services.
