Tai Wah Guest House

The location is really convenient, about a minute's walk from the metro, with the bus stop for the airport right across the way. There are lots of food shops on the first floor of the mansion. The rooms are very small, which seems normal for Hong Kong, but the bathroom was surprisingly large. Everything was clean and well maintained, and daily cleaning was free.

The Filipino staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean. They changed the linens and towels and cleaned the room every day without needing to be asked. Checkout is at 11 am, but you can leave your luggage for free until 5 pm. Great value for the money.

It's a comfortable stay, with a clean small room, hot shower, free WiFi, and hot and cold drinking water in the common area. The location is especially handy, under five minutes on foot from MTR Tsim Tsa Tsui Station, nearest exits D1, D2, and N5. Jenny cookies, Top1 bakery, and plenty of shops for souvenirs are downstairs. Arena of Stars, the Symphony of lights, and the Kowloon ferry terminal for trips to Macau are also within walking distance.

The room is tiny. Once your luggage is open, there's basically nowhere to stand, though it's cozy enough for a night's rest. It's in Mirador mansion on Nathan road, opposite iSquare, and was quite hard to find. Reception is on the 8th floor, with rooms on the 8th or 16th. The receptionist is friendly and speaks English and Tagalog.
