Seaview Hostel

We liked our stay. There were two of us, and we were out all day and only came back at night, so the comfortable bed, AC, shower, and toilet were enough for a good rest. The best part was the price for two weeks. It didn't cost much, and we still had a good stay. The beds get made every day and there's cleaning service. The room is cramped, with two beds separated by just enough space for one person to stand. The usual HK-style bathroom has the toilet, sink, and shower all together, so shower water gets everywhere. There was a sewer smell coming up through the bathroom pipe, but it wasn't too strong, and the streets smell like that too. The bed was slightly firm, by the window, and quiet with the AC on. There's no extra room for a seat or table, so look elsewhere if that's what you want. If you've never stayed in a hostel, don't like tight spaces, or have a big family, this place probably isn't for you. It's in a crowded area with easy access to restaurants and stores. There's a fast-food place downstairs on the 2nd floor where you can order at a kiosk, plus more restaurants in the basements. Hawkers downstairs ask about staying at their hostels or eating at their restaurants, but they leave you alone if you say no. There are lots of hostels there, and they all seem to have the same small divided-up rooms. The elevator gets hot, and you may have to wait, especially around 8pm when everyone's coming back from being out all day. Still, it felt safe, and we didn't have any trouble.
