Hotel Alpino Armenia

The room was big, with a smart TV and fast internet, and breakfast was delicious. Service was excellent, both at reception and with room service. A special thanks to Vanessa and all the friendly, professional reception and help staff.

The property is quite old, so don’t expect fancy rooms. Curtains need to stay drawn unless you’re comfortable being seen by other guests. One practical thing to know: you need a reservation, and there’s a note on the glass entrance telling you to ring the bell whenever you want to get in. On the plus side, coffee is free and the kind, helpful women offer inexpensive laundry service.

We had booked back in November and contacted the hotel again a few days before arriving to check the practical details. Everything seemed settled, but when we showed up in the evening, they said there was no room for us and refused to accommodate us. They even said finding somewhere else at that hour was unlikely. After a long journey, that was extremely stressful. The area and the way they handled things left us feeling unsafe and not reassured. The management was very unprofessional. Avoid this place.

We had no water in the bathroom or shower during our one-night stay. Not being able to use the bathroom made the night pretty awful.
