We found the stay disappointing overall, and there are better hotels nearby. Most of the staff were friendly, but too disengaged to be much help. The pool by the bar has apparently been under maintenance for weeks, with no word on when it will reopen. It was nicer than the pool by the breakfast area, which was dirty. Cups had been left under the bushes, along with lots of cigarette butts, and no one seemed to be cleaning them up. When we arrived for our four-day stay at the Barranquilla Plaza, there were no towels in the bedroom. We asked for them, waited two hours, then went back down to ask again. Neither receptionist had passed the message to the concierge, and they didn't seem bothered. I was also concerned to see pitbulls and Dobermans roaming without leads, with toddlers and small children in the lobby and no guidance about the dogs.

The location is great and so is breakfast, but the aggravation wasn't worth it. We chose the place because we were traveling from the US for a sweet fifteen birthday party and wanted to stay where the event was being held. The two people at the front desk were very arrogant. Our suite had just two towels, no washcloths, and only cold shower water. If you're coming from overseas or the US, do not stay there.

Street noise kept us up, with music playing until 4pm. It felt like sleeping beside a football field. Room service shuts at 10pm, there was no toaster for bread, and the rooms had no toiletries.

The room barely had any toiletries, and the rollaway bed we requested for the first night was charged for but didn't arrive until the second night. At check-in, people were lined up breathing down each other's backs, and the front desk wasn't enforcing distance. It felt like a place for locals, not foreigners.

I couldn't sleep until after 3am any night because an open-air club next door blasts music until then. This is far beyond background noise, the room feels like you're inside the nightclub. The hotel and police don't seem to care. A horrible experience.
