Hotel Charlotte Suite 26

The lobby looked worn when we arrived, and the room was in even worse shape. The mattresses were very old, and there was a bug in the room. We'd booked for four, but the second bed was barely an XL twin and wasn't suitable for two adults. I'm surprised this is listed as a four-star hotel. I wouldn't stay again.

My wife left after just one night of a six-day booking. The sheets were stained and unclean, the building smelled of cigarette smoke, and it was so noisy she could hardly sleep. Service was bad, and when we asked for the unused nights to be refunded, they refused. Expedia called them numerous times, but they wouldn't answer the phone. It felt like part of a scam, hoping callers would give up so they could keep the money. This was the worst hotel in Bogota for us. They deserve zero stars, but I had to give one to post this.

The rooms were basic but clean, and the staff were lovely. Sleep was another story. Noise carries everywhere in this concrete building, from the lobby and stairwell to rooms overhead. Even earplugs didn't help much. I suspect many guests are stranded travelers sent by their airline after a missed connection, with little choice about staying here. Bring earplugs if you can, and food too. Dinner was inedible for me because I couldn't chew the meat. If there's a choice, get the hamburger.

It was my first visit to colombia, and the staff made me feel welcome and looked after. Santiago took care of my reservation and handled whatever came up from the beginning. One evening, after hours, he even went upstairs and cooked a meal because it had been promised. They really go out of their way for guests.
