It's a great way to get a feel for everyday life in Bogota. The atmosphere is very local, not like a typical tourist destination, and the location is super convenient with some great restaurants and cafeterias nearby. The owners don't speak English, but I had no trouble communicating with a translator.

It's cheap for a reason, so don't expect a Hyatt. There are no windows in the rooms, though that's normal in a lot of South American accommodations. For a no-frills stay, it works well. It's safe and clean, there's hot water, and the owner does a nice job.

It was affordable and fine for a one-night stay, but construction was going on during the day. The rooms are packed close together with basically no sound insulation, and there was a bad smell coming from the toilet.

We found it to be one of the best places we'd stayed in all of South America. The price was good and the rooms were super clean. Just 30 meters away there's an inexpensive local fish restaurant called RESTAURANTE Y PESCADERIA EL BONCHE DE LOS MARISCOS.
