Hotel Teusaquillo Boutique

The staff were really nice, and I appreciated their professionalism and how they run the hotel. We spent five days here, and the clean rooms, good breakfast, and central location made it easy to get around by cab or Uber. Breakfast had eggs, mild coffee, juice, croissants, and sometimes fruit. We ate there three mornings, then got tired of the same choices. There wasn’t much English spoken, but we were in their country. The WiFi only worked in the hallway, not in our room, and the mattress was unbelievably hard, the hardest I’ve ever slept on. I was also disappointed when we were accused of taking minibar items. I ate one candy bar, bought a replacement, and put it back the next day. They said beer and water were missing, but I don’t think the minibar had been stocked correctly before we arrived. Some listed items weren’t there when I checked. I’m honest and would pay if I took something, especially since Bogota is so cheap. Eventually the staff member called someone and said they wouldn’t charge us. I’d still recommend the hotel, about 9/10, if you want a safe, central base.

The room was a little too small, but otherwise it was good enough. It’s clean, the shower is great, and both breakfast and service are good.

The location works well, and the staff are nice. I’m not quite sure what Colombians mean by “boutique.” Our room was noisy, with windows facing either a busy street or a classroom at night. The bed was old, sagging, and stiff. Breakfast was a cold croissant, black drip coffee, scrambled eggs, and industrial orange juice.

An old fashioned place, but everything works, including the elevator. Breakfast is included, and the property is better than average.
