Hotel Boutique La Artillería

I wouldn't book again. The first-floor rooms are small and ugly, and the courtyard noise starts early, around 6 am. First you hear employees chatting in the kitchen, then other guests having breakfast and playing music on their phones.

The front desk service was excellent, and the hotel is clean and cute, with a handy location close to everything. The rooms are small, though, and it feels overpriced for what you get. Breakfast didn't change from day to day, just the same fruit and omelet. The rooftop is only okay, too: it could use an update, and the pool water was warmer than the air, so it wasn't much use.

We had a nicely sized suite, and the whole hotel was very clean. Breakfast was good each morning, cooked to order, and the rooftop pool was a welcome place to cool down. One small letdown: the “lounge” is just a cooler with beer in the breakfast area. The in-room minibar is limited too, with beer and water but no liquor.

The place has a luxurious feel and a really nice atmosphere, and they gave me some free drinks. But getting into my room was a hassle since I wasn't given a key. I only found that out after booking, and had to ask someone to let me in every time. The shower stopped working, and the repair took more than an hour and a half, throwing off my plans. Afterward, the room was left muddy and dirty. The two single beds pushed together also made an uncomfortable ridge in the middle. There was loud construction next door, though it didn't bother me much. It's still a nice place, but the problems were frustrating.
