HC Helena

Helena and her sons were always attentive to whatever we might need. They’re a lovely family with beautiful energy. The place was spotless, comfortable, and beautiful, and the location is excellent, quiet, safe, and within walking distance of anywhere in town. The third-floor sunset view is incredible!!! I highly recommend it.

Manuel was incredibly helpful and knew a lot. He answered all our questions about visiting Salento and el valle de Cocora, arranged a great visit to a nearby coffee finca, and set up a private shuttle to the Armenia airport for the end of our stay. The service here is fantastic. I’d definitely stay again!

We liked the rooftop hammock a lot, especially for sitting with a coffee and looking out at the hills. The front rooms have little balconies facing the alley and the broad hills north of Filandia. It’s an easy seven-minute walk to the center, and the viewpoint, souvenir mini mall, Helena and Mocafé are all nearby. There’s free street parking, and apparently there’s a Tejo spot around, though it has moved, so ask locally. The rooms are compact, and the bathroom even more so, but everything was new and very clean. It worked fine for our one night. The street is usually really quiet, unless there’s construction or the neighbor across the way is playing his after-work music.
