The town is beautiful and the food was really good. There were so many flies, though, it was gross.

We rented the Bodeguita, and this place was amazing. A great spot to get away from the stress of city life, enjoy the outdoors, and have some peace and quiet.

The poor service spoiled an otherwise nice atmosphere, and we left a night early because we were so unhappy. We arrived Friday at 11pm with sleeping kids, but reception was empty. After waiting, knocking and yelling with no response, we found a security guard. He spent another 20-30 minutes trying to reach the receptionist on his walkie talkie. The administrator finally appeared after about 40 minutes and gave us a room that looked a little dirty. It was almost midnight, so we took it. The next morning, the maid said the room hadn't been prepared and that she'd get it ready. Disgusting. Breakfast service was good, but after breakfast it was poor. At the pool you could wait all day for service unless you went to ask. The waiters stood around talking, and we saw other guests having to ask for menus. A photoshoot seemed to take priority over the guests during our stay, and service stayed poor even after it ended. If you're choosing the hotel over one of the many Airbnb houses in town for the included services, you'll be disappointed. Hot water depends on sunshine. On a rainy, cool day there may be none, and the solar heaters run out quickly even when there is hot water.

The service was okay, but when we arranged a meal for a special occasion, it was slow and a bit chaotic, so the result wasn't great. Still, it's a decent place to go for a bite or a drink one night. It's a long-standing hotel in this little pretend town, with private space that could suit a family retreat. There are hosted houses and several of the town's hotels to choose from.
