Masaya Medellin

It felt like being at home, and I was so impressed I added three nights to my stay. There's room to sit, relax, or work inside and out, and the common areas and bedrooms have plenty of space and light. The staff are lovely and attentive, even offering a parasol when they noticed me in the sun. The place is super clean, the food is good, and towels are free and good quality. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi have a fantastic wide view, and they offer nice activities like cooking, yoga, and dance classes. The lockers are incredible, with room for a large suitcase and two other platforms. Hot shower, good pressure, bigger beds than in most hostels, and great vibes with music that isn't too loud. People here seemed more mature, respectful, and in remote-work mode than the very young crowd looking to get drunk at many other hostels. The price for all of it is great.

The rooftop is a lovely place to gather, and there's a pool. In private rooms, though, you can hear the bar's music and furniture moving above until around 10pm. It generally wasn't disturbing later in the night. Our private room for two was clean, a very good standard, and on the seventh floor with a great view. The laundry was affordable and quick, and breakfast had a decent, tasty selection. Tours are available, but we found them quite expensive compared with other hotels or platforms. The location is good, close to restaurants, bars, and the plaza where most tours start. El Poblado is the place to be for tourists.

The food at Masaya was amazing. We ate breakfast and lunch every day, and Leidy and Hubert were the friendliest staff, always smiling and polite. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and ready to help with questions. The rooms are spacious and have great views, and the upstairs bar is nice with great drinks. Jefferson, the bartender, will definitely make you a great drink, ask for him. Definitely recommend staying at Masala.

We only stayed one night at Masaya Medellín, but it was a really pleasant surprise. Our private double room had its own bathroom and felt more like a hotel room than a hostel, so we had plenty of comfort and privacy. Breakfast was included, and the avocado toast was really good. Lady stood out for her kindness and attentiveness, checking in often to see if we were all right or needed anything. I'd definitely stay again.
