A powerful, properly hot shower, a fan, and a comfy, clean bed, plus towels, a lovely breakfast, and checkout at 1pm. What’s not to love? It’s close to the football stadium, but the area is quiet at night when you’re trying to sleep.

There were some mosquitoes, and the balcony and view were nice. The bathroom sink faucet feels cheap and is quite loose. It doesn’t really bother me, but if the hotel wants an easy room upgrade, that seems like the obvious one.

Breakfast was great, and the location made it easy to get around. As a woman traveling solo in Medellín, I felt at home thanks to the crew. The front desk staff were always smiling and ready to answer my questions.

Medellín is a beautiful city, though many people lost their jobs after two years of COVID. A few safety tips: leave jewelry behind, ask before taking pictures of people or shops, and dress more like the locals than in shorts, tank tops, and sandals. Avoid empty streets and places far from where police are visible. Don't take things from vendors or get drawn into conversations with strangers.
