Hotel Chilimaco

If you’re stopping to rest before continuing a road trip, this is a good option. The location is excellent, the front desk service was excellent, and the hotel is impeccably clean. There’s Wi-Fi and cable TV. They should add breakfasts of their own. Highly recommended for all those reasons.

I got no rest because it was so noisy. There are too many nightclubs nearby, and the towels smelled awful. The service was terrible. Please don’t stay here!

Breakfast comes from the bakery next door, since the hotel no longer has its own restaurant. Each guest gets a voucher for a typical breakfast of eggs, bread or arepa, and coffee or hot chocolate. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were attentive. A good hotel, recommended.

The biggest drawback was the street noise. The hotel is on a main road, and cars go by all night, sometimes loud enough to wake you. They should consider soundproof windows. The room itself was clean and had a balcony, table, desk, and an outlet for working. We booked a double room but got only one towel for two people for two days. Even so, I can’t complain about the service or cleanliness. For cash and a stay longer than four nights, they gave us a discount. The quoted rate was 120 per night, including breakfast, Wi-Fi, TV, and air conditioning, but there was no hot water. It was my first visit to Puerto Asís, and I’d heard it was hard to find good hotels. The driver who brought me said this one was good but expensive. For breakfast, I’d suggest the cafeteria, which has more options. The hotel restaurant serves only eggs in the morning, though they’re good too. Both places are fine for lunch. Go at 12, because if your lunch break is between 1 and 2, you may find the daily specials, which cost between 8 and 12 thousand, are gone.
