Lovely staff, and the dogs were sweet too. The rooms were clean and great, and the breakfast was good. It's very close to the plaza. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The room walls really are thin, so you can hear everything. Bring white noise for the night. Still, I would definitely come back: I'm very picky about places to stay, and this one was affordable, quiet, and homey. We liked it enough to extend our stay. The owner and front desk staff were great and very accommodating. The location worked well, just a 4-5 minute walk to the square, about the same as other hostels or even better. Breakfast was the same as what we'd had elsewhere in Colombia and Peru: eggs, bread, fruit, and coffee or hot chocolate. They also gave us fresh towels every day, which was a big deal after staying at other hostels where one towel had to last over a week. I'd read other reviews before arriving and was nervous, but I didn't really understand what people were talking about.

The road was under construction and nobody told us. The place is old and run down, and the pictures don't match it. When we walked in, the young woman didn't greet us and wasn't friendly. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The price is competitive, but the breakfast could be better and the staff could be more welcoming. For a better stay in Salento, I'd look for somewhere closer to the main square.
