Hostal Villa del Sol

After six weeks travelling around Colombia, this was easily our favourite place to stay. Diego and the staff made us feel so welcome and were attentive and friendly throughout. The peaceful setting has lovely mountain views, and the common area was comfortable. There was always coffee, plus hot water in the shower and a laundry service. We’d happily come back one day.

A friendly place to stay in salento, with a good kitchen and a nice shared area, especially outside. Our room was great and the bath had warm water. The wash service was good too, for 5000 Pesos.

The hosts were wonderful and so welcoming. She even did my laundry for free, which was the only place in Colombia that didn’t charge me for it, and she was always smiling. It’s a small, well-kept place with a lovely view out back. More chairs, tables, a couch or swing, and some decor would make the backyard feel easier to settle into. Our room faced the street, so we heard some noise, including cats and horses passing. If that makes it hard for you to sleep, ask for a room on the other side. It looked booked while we were there. The room itself was very basic, but the location was great and we had a great stay. Thanks again!

The terrace view is stunning, and there’s always coffee and water in the common area. Our room was large and clean, and Daniela and her brother were lovely hosts. Daniela also helped us with laundry, which we really appreciated. Recommend!
