Palmas de Cocora

The restaurant looked lovely, with a natural style, and one of the dishes we saw pass by made us want to try it. The hot wine was very good. Regular wine only came in small individual bottles, though, and at $35,000 for one serving it was ridiculously expensive. We ordered Canadian trout and trout meunière, both meant to be baked, not fried. One arrived fried and the other baked. The server kindly took the fried one back and said the baked fish was my husband's Canadian trout. I said I'd wait for mine, and the hostess brought a small dessert and apologized for the mix-up. That was fine. His trout was delicious, moist and flavorful. Mine took a very long time to arrive, and when it did, it was dry and overcooked. The two male servers had their backs to us while talking to each other. I told a waitress I didn't like the trout, and she asked, “You preferred it less cooked?” then walked away. I ended up ordering soup and asked them to take the fish away because I couldn't eat it. When the check came, every item was still on it. I asked about a discount, and the hostess said the chef considered the trout perfectly cooked, then asked where it was and why I hadn't said something. I had said something, but the servers had already cleared the table and thrown the trout away. They weren't attentive, the waitress did nothing after I raised the issue, and they could at least have offered a courtesy discount or comped the soup, which became my meal. I don't recommend this restaurant because of the poor customer service.
